Yarn on yarn abrasion failure mechanism of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fiber

چکیده

Yarns of fiber assemblies such as ropes would abrade with each other during repeated stretching or bending. The yarn on abrasion failure is a main reason for the final assembly result relative movement to other. To explore influencing factors and mechanism, this work, taking Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber (UHMWPE) research object, discussed influences abrading frequency tension its life. Based observation analysis rising temperatures from abrasion, fragments, morphology failed yarns, heating crack propagation mechanisms were proposed, which provide insights into variety UHMWPE product designs applications.
